Isaiah 43: 1-3

But now thus says the

    Lord, who created you,

      O Jacob,

     he who formed you, O Israel:

"Fear not, for I have redeemed

      you;

I have called you by name, you

      are mine.

When you pass through the

       waters I will be with you;

   and through the rivers, they

       shall not overwhelm you;

when you walk through the fire you

        shall not be burned,

   and the flame shall not consume

        you.

For I am the Lord your God,

   the Holy One of Israel, your

     Savior."

Psalm 57:1-3
Be merciful to me, O God, be

     merciful to me,

     for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I

     will take refuge,

until the destroying storms pass

     by.

I cry to God Most High,

     to God who fulfills his purpose

           for me.

He will send from heaven and

     save me,

     he will put to shame those who

          trample on me. (Selah)

God will send forth his steadfast

           love and his faithfulness.

Psalm 61:1-4
Hear my cry, O God;

     listen to my prayer.

From the end of the earth

     I call to you,

when my heart is faint.

.

1. Denial - a protection from initial shock. It lasts until I am ready to see my situation and deal with it

Lead me to the rock

      that is higher than I;

for you are my refuge,

      a strong tower against the

            enemy.

Let me abide in your tent forever,

      find refuge under the shelter of your wings
